While most construction companies utilize an enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution to manage accounts receivable transactional information, they do not contain content management tools to automate billing. Construction Imaging integrates with these construction ERP solutions and adds billing automation that saves companies time, money and prevents mistakes.

Case Study: Document Collection from Three Days to Less than One Hour

As a byproduct of the Accounts Payable and Payroll workflow solutions and electronic document management, Port City Construction was able to an automated T&M or Cost Plus billing solution, which provides electronic backup for invoices and timesheets. These documents are processed electronically and stored in the document management system by job number and date; therefore they can be queried and exported accordingly. The billing solution allows the AR department search, cull, import, and export functionality. The end result is the billing package that is either exported to a machine readable file with query capability or a print all paper distribution. Certain clients prefer electronic backup and other prefer paper. In both scenarios, Port City was able to condense a three day document collection and copy process to less than one hour. In the scenario where their clients require multiple copies of the billing package, they were able to eliminate a great deal of ink, paper, and toner. The AR department not only greatly diminished the prep time for T&M documents, they also like the added benefit that the data and documents on the media are secured, where they can only be viewed by user credentials.
