The Economy, Your Company, and Our User Conference
Todd Williams
Construction Imaging will host the annual User Group Conference this October. Last year, clients and prospects from around the country came to Rocky Mount, North Carolina to learn about content management, improve their applications, network with colleagues, and have some fun.Last fall, fuel prices topped $3.75 a gallon, a new president was elected, and the U.S. economy nearly collapsed. Banks, financial firms, retailers, and car manufacturers closed their doors, filed for bankruptcy, or merged with other companies. Layoffs continue, and unemployment has climbed above an unprecedented 10 percent. Statistics say that one in four Americans has been directly affected by this recession. Jobs are lost, mortgages are in foreclosure, housing prices continue to drop, investment accounts have lower value, and consumer confidence has disappeared. Today, gas costs approximately $2.50+ a gallon, we have a new president, and the economy is showing signs of life.
We know in these uncertain times that you are dealing with downsized, delayed, or halted projects, staffing reductions, pay cuts, strained cash flow, slashed expenditures, and reduced travel. Construction Imaging will once again host the annual User Group Conference this October. You are probably deciding whether to attend this year’s conference. Here’s why you should. As you will see throughout this newsletter, we’re focusing on “Practical Productivity Tools” that include enhancements, features, and new products. Construction Imaging products, third party software, or hardware will improve transaction processing, e-mail management, archiving, disaster recovery, document intake, and many other headache points.
We want you to leave the conference knowing how to maximize your existing system and obtain information about products that will enable you to add business efficiencies that will improve your company’s bottom-line. Use this opportunity as an additional way to contribute to your organization’s success. This is why we want you to join us at this year’s User Group Conference. We hope to see you in October - Don’t miss this important chance to learn, network, and have fun!

Training Benefits At Our User Group Conference
The Training Department
Our Annual User Group Conference gives you a great chance to network with prospective, new, and seasoned users and discover how initial and ongoing training impacts the initial implementation and long-term benefits of your imaging system. To personalize your imaging experience, explore other topics in more detail with a Construction Imaging trainer. You also have a chance to “put a face with the voices” that you interact with during support calls; this is beneficial for both CI trainers and clients. Join us at the conference to learn more about our products, training, and services! This year, we hope clients will present sessions that will share a “real world” usage viewpoint.(back to articles)
Exciting News from Development!
Josh Wright
User Group Conference is always an exciting time in the Development group. We have been hard at work on new products, namely Invoice Router Web Access. Not only does Web Access allow users to approve their documents from a web browser, it also provides a clean and simple interface for the most common tasks used by approvers. A more intuitive interface decreases training time and reduces support calls to the power users or IT helpdesk. At last year’s meeting we also introduced our users to Kofax Transformation Modules for rules-based OCR capture of AP Invoices. With Construction Imaging’s Invoice Router Release Script, clients are already leveraging KTM to capture images, extract data, and automatically route invoices to the first level approvers. Accounts Payable now only needs to handle exceptions on the front end; no longer necessary to key every invoice into the system manually.
Two years ago, we introduced our Dashboard product for simple reporting on the Invoice Router system. Many clients have expressed interest in creating their own reports with tools they already own in addition to the standard reports. We’ve listened to your feedback and will demonstrate new features to enable clients to report on our system with everyday tools like Microsoft Excel and Access.
This year’s User Group Conference will be the best we have ever had. We cannot wait to show you the latest and greatest from Construction Imaging and hope to see you there!
